I just LOVE being outside, especially now that it's getting nice and cool - it SURE gets HOT in Texas, so I spend alot of time in our pool! Today, my mom started pulling all this stuff out of the barn, and next thing you know, she's outside fiddling with that stuff! It was so fun to watch her - I'm a good boy, though, and I know that I am not allowed to just go running around wherever all by myself! I'm so special someone would surely pick me up and take me away from my Mom! So she has taught me this thing called a "threshold" - (I think that means the door) - anyway, she says that I am not allowed to go past that thing unless she says COME - and boy, when she says COME I come running FAST! This is just a picture of me and my brother, Harley, being such good boys, waiting at the threshold for Mom to call us!

I'M A BIG DOG NOW!
Yeah!!! I did it!! I did my mentoring today!
It was really fun, and I was really nervous! My Mom got me all ready, she got my stuff ready, my brother Shea gave me a bath, and off we went! We met the nice lady Sue at the James West Alzheimer's Community all the way in downtown Ft. Worth!
Guess what! I road the elevator! I was so scared that I layed down on the floor while it moved, but then I was ok and got right off of it. There were SO MANY people there! They all patted me, and petted me, and hugged my neck, and talked so nice to me! I showed them all of my tricks, and they liked it so much that they gave me treats! It went really good - Well - until....I smelled RABBITS! Now, you know that I am a lab dog! So.........I was VERY interested in those rabbits! My Mom wouldn't let me close by them, but I could still smell them! She had to take me into another room because I was so distracted by them!
After we moved to the other room, I went right back to visiting with the sweet little old people. Some of them really didn't like me, but that's ok! Mom said for me just to stay away from them because not EVERYONE likes dogs (I don't understand that, but it's ok!)
So after visiting with the litte old people, Ms. Sue told Mom that we did really good, and that we were done with our mentoring - that means that now Mom and I can go anywhere that we want without a chapperone! YEAH! We will have SO MUCH FUN working together!
By the time I got home, I was worn out! Who knew that work would be so much fun, but also so tiring!
I'll keep you posted!

First Day of Work ~ Tomorrow!
Mom made it home last night! Yeah! And today, she got all of my "stuff" together for my first day of work tomorrow - gosh, I didn't know I needed so much stuff! Let's see, I have my brushes, my water canteen, some pictures of me (and they are really cute!), my backpack to put all of my stuff in, some poopee bags (surely I won't poop at work ~ will I???), my ID badge, my bandana, my vest, and most importantly, Mom has packed me some treats!
I am kind of nervous - I guess like the little children who are getting ready for the first day of school - I'm the same way! A Doggie Boy! With MY supplies!
Mom says that I will do really good - I can't wait!
Wish us luck!

I miss my Mom.....
My mom's been gone for a few days helping our friends get settled back in the United States from Malaysia - I sure do miss her!
She told me, though, that it went really well last Friday with her mentoring - she got to go to an Alzheimer's Community with Hannah - Hannah is a girl dog who also does therapy work - she already has a job! Mom said that she thought that she did good learning from Hannah, and guess what! I get to go this Friday to the same place to visit with the people who live there! Hannah won't be there with us though - I hope my Mom learned good because I think I might be a little nervous the first time! And I hope that my Mom makes it back home from Houston in time to take me!
While Mom has been gone, I have been having alot of fun swimming in our pool - do you want to see pictures??? Ok - I will post them so that you can see what a great swimmer I am! I am a really smart dog, don't you think?

Mentoring Time
So Mom says that now that we got our "official" stuff - (we got a name badge with our PICTURE ON IT! ~ that's really cool! And I even got a little tag for my collar!) - she says that we can begin "mentoring" for my new job. I'm not sure what that means exactly - I think I'm pretty special the way that I am, but she says that we have to go with some friends to practice being more special - She gets to go meet a lady THIS FRIDAY to begin mentoring - I wonder why I don't get to go? Mom says it's because she needs to watch the other Pet Partners do their jobs together first, and then next time I get to go. I hope that Mom doesn't wear my bandana and my vest! She can wear our name tag though! It looks nice on her - she even got a new shirt to wear when we go to our job! I hope that she does a good job on Friday learning so that I get to go next time! Maybe she will tell me all about it!
By the way, my Mom's name is Patricia ~ and this is our "official" picture that is on our name badge! Don't you think that we look nice!

My New Vest!
Wow!!! Mom was so excited - I got some new clothes today!! It's the coolest vest! It says DELTA PET PARTNER on it! I wonder what that means! I also have a back pack, and Mom put all sorts of stuff in it ~ like a couple of brushes, some treats, a book with some pictures of ME in it, and guess what! she even put a little water canteen in it for me! We must be going somewhere VERY exciting! Did I tell you that I even got a BANDANA to go with my vest? And guess what else! I even have my very own special leash and collar - they are green, and they have my NAME embroidered on them - they say CLYDE in big white letters! This is getting excting! I wonder what it all means?

Test Day
What does that mean? I don't know, but Mom was awfully nervous! I had to take a bath and everything! Then, guess what! She loaded me up, and took me to the Fort Worth Children's Hospital - now, even I know that DOG'S aren't supposed to be in HOSPITALS?? Are they? I guess I REALLY must be special - we got to walk STRAIGHT IN! We didn't even have to SNEAK in! That was really cool! I could smell that there MUST have been other dogs there, but I didn't see many of them. After waiting our turn, we finally got to go into a special room - there was alot of people in there, but I wasn't nervous at all ~ Mom sure was though!
They made me do all sorts of stuff, like sit and stay - one lady even opened my mouth, and touched my tail - but that stuff doesn't even bother me at all! THEN they said that we were doing GREAT, AND they asked my Mom if she wanted us to try out for "Complex" - now, I don't know what that means, but it was weird - they had some people do stuff like have a loud discussion to see if I got scared, and push each other a little bit to see how I reacted, and then, they even made me walk through a crowd that had stuff like walkers and wheelchairs - I guess they thought that stuff would scare me, but heck no! That didn't bother me even a little bit - so I guess I did really well - they gave my Mom some papers, and said that I was COMPLEX - now, I personally do not think that I am a complex dog, but ok, if they want me to be complex then I guess I will be! It must have been a big, big deal because my Mom jumped up and down, and hugged my neck tight, and told me what a GOOD BOY I am - I promise, I think she was even crying! WOW - I must be special! I think that she thinks that she made a REALLY GOOD CHOICE when she adopted ME! yeah!
I wonder what we do next????

Delta Pet Partners Training
My mom kept disappearing on me again! She went away for two Saturdays - I heard her say something about a special class that she was going to. When she came home, she would work with me, teach me new tricks, and give me great treats!! That was the best part! She said that soon, if I was good, that I would have a JOB! I hope that I am good enough, and I hope that I get to work around alot of people! I just love people! I also heard her say that my brother, Harley, just has a bad attitude - even though she loves him as much as she loves me, Harley can't get a job because sometimes he is grumpy - yeah! that makes ME SPECIAL!
